Our story

Built by people who've been
on the doorstep.

We looked for campaign software that worked for a municipal race. We couldn't find it. So we built it.

We knew what a real ward campaign actually looks like.

LocalSeat was built by a team of candidates and campaign managers who ran municipal campaigns and came away frustrated by the same thing: there was nothing in the market built for them.

We knocked doors. We managed walk lists in spreadsheets. We tracked supporters in notes apps and lost follow-ups in group chats. We imported voter data into tools that were clearly designed for something else entirely — and we made it work, because that's what you do when you're trying to win a seat on your city council or school board.

But we knew it didn't have to be that hard. So after the campaigns were over, we built the tool we wished we'd had.

The software gap in Canadian politics

Federal and provincial parties have access to expensive, powerful campaign platforms — because they have the budgets and the staff to run them. Municipal candidates don't have that. And yet local government is where decisions get made that affect people's daily lives most directly.

Powerful platforms with dedicated support teams, training programs, and party-level data infrastructure. Built for organizations with full-time staff and six-figure technology budgets.

Spreadsheets & group chats

The reality for most municipal campaigns. Voter data in Excel. Walk lists printed and hand-annotated. Follow-ups lost in iMessage threads. Supporter records nowhere.

Three things we won't compromise on

01

Local politics is where it starts

City councils, school boards, and municipal governments make decisions that shape people's daily lives more directly than most federal policy ever will. Potholes, transit routes, zoning, libraries, local services — that's all local. The people who run for those seats deserve proper tools, not afterthoughts.

02

Simple beats powerful

A canvasser shouldn't need training to use their phone on a doorstep in November. A campaign manager shouldn't need an IT department to get a voter list imported. We build for the person standing at the door, not for the enterprise that never has to stand anywhere.

03

Your data is yours

The voter records, canvass results, and supporter lists your campaign builds belong to your campaign — not to us. We don't sell your data. We don't share it with other campaigns or third parties. We keep it safe, and we make it available to you whenever you need it — including four years from now when you run again.

If you're running for your community — we built this for you.

LocalSeat is ready for your campaign. Set up in minutes, knocking doors the same day.
